The Making of 10cc’s “I’m Not In Love”

I’ve never been particularly interested in 10cc, but this video gives a fascinating insight into the making of I’m Not In Love:

Apparently, the audio track of the video is derived from a radio broadcast (of unspecified origin), with the visuals added by someone calling himself TheMysticAudio.

The most impressive thing about the whole thing is that it highlights the lengths 10cc were prepared to go to to get the sound they wanted. Because the voices that underpin the track are not output from a plug-in or synth preset it gives the track a completely unique sound, and the production method they had to go through to achieve the effect they wanted becomes the track. The process is the product.
